Production Site Chile

Grünenthal has been operating in Santiago de Chile for 45 years. Currently, two of its production facilities are located in Chile:

• A women's health products plant, which is among the most modern in Latin America.
• A solids plant: recently remodeled, and which will undergo certification by the European Medicines Agency, EMA, this 2024 to be able to export from Chile to countries in the European Union (EU).

Both plants operate with state-of-the-art technology and operational excellence protocols, always seeking continuous improvement for the benefit of patients.

Our Chile site aims to become a national benchmark in local production, being one of the pharmaceutical companies that has invested the most in technology and machinery in recent years.

The renovated solids plant (tablets, capsules, capsules) will be fully operational in 2026, with a maximum capacity of 1.8 billion tablets per year. The implementation of new safety and quality standards and protocols will allow the site to export medicines produced in Chile to highly regulated markets.

Certified quality control services include the following: physical-chemical testing, microbiological testing and introducing qualitative analytics using transmission RAMAN spectroscopy (TRS). The plant is certified according to EN ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
